Pre-Treatment Instructions

  • Toxin.

    - 1-2 weeks prior: avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning over-the-counter medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve unless directed otherwise by your primary physician. This includes herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John's Wort, and Omega-3 capsules. These medications and herbal supplements can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.

    - 3 days prior: avoid topical products that are potentially irritating such as Tretinoin (RetinA), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or other "anti-aging" products. Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

    - 24 hours prior: do not drink alcoholic beverages before (or after) your treatment to avoid extra bruising.

    - Day of treatment: arrive at the office with a "clean face"—washed and without makeup.

  • Filler.

    - 3 days prior: avoid topical products that are potentially irritating such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, or other "antiaging" products. Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

    - 24 hours prior: do not drink alcoholic beverages before (or after) your treatment to avoid extra bruising.

    - Day of treatment: Arrive at the office with a "clean face"—washed and without makeup. To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic may be applied. In some cases, a local numbing medication will be injected into or around the area(s) to be treated.

    - Inform your primary physician if you have a history of Herpes Simplex Virus to receive advice on antiviral therapy before treatment.

  • Disolver.

    - All make up will need to be removed prior to treatment, so please come 'fresh faced' it possible.

    - Alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen and a range of dietary supplements including St. John’s Wort, Omega 6 oils, Garlic, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins C and E-supplements may all contribute to bruising and are best avoided 5 days before treatment.

    - Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including acne or cold sores or if you are unwell- including colds, coughs, sore throats etc. Do contact the clinic to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending.

    - It you are receiving Hyaluronidase treatment to correct unsatisfactory results, you will be given a test dose (a small injection on your forearm) and observed for a minimum of 20 minutes, to identify any sensitivity which may indicate allergy to Hyaluronidase. If symptoms of sensitivity are observed, then treatment cannot proceed.
